Thailand Named One of the Safest Destinations for Solo Female Travelers

Thailand has earned a spot among the world’s safest destinations for women traveling alone, according to a recent ranking by a U.S.-based insurance firm.
The survey, carried out by Everly Life Insurance Company and featured by the New York Post, placed Thailand in eighth position out of ten countries considered the safest for solo female travelers, Deputy Government Spokesperson Sasikarn Watthanachan revealed.
The rankings were based on various safety indicators, including the country’s homicide rate, nighttime safety, and societal attitudes toward violence against women. Spain led the list, with an impressive safety score of 89 out of 100. The full top 10 included:
- Spain
- Austria
- Italy
- Poland
- United Kingdom
- France
- Germany
- Thailand
- Japan
- Croatia
Ms. Sasikarn added that several well-regarded travel websites have also highlighted Thailand as a favorite for solo female travelers.
For instance, Adventurous Kate, a prominent travel blog geared towards solo female journeys, praised Thailand for its well-developed infrastructure, welcoming locals, and general safety. Another influential site, Be My Travel Muse, listed Thailand among Asia’s top choices for solo explorers, thanks to its rich array of attractions, ease of travel, and tourist-friendly amenities.
Ms. Sasikarn stated that these international recognitions not only reflect Thailand’s strong position in global tourism but also underscore the collaborative efforts among various sectors—from law enforcement and transport services to the naturally warm and inclusive Thai culture.
She added that the acknowledgment plays a key role in boosting Thailand’s global image under the “Amazing Thailand” brand, enhancing its appeal to international visitors.
