If the Christmas and New Year holidays left you a little over-indulged — or if those early January fitness resolutions quietly slipped — now’s the moment to reset. With the end of January in sight, it’s officially time to get moving.

Bangkok makes it easy to ease back into exercise without excuses, thanks to its extensive network of public parks that double as open-air gyms. Whether you live in the capital or are visiting long-term, the following green spaces offer free access to fresh air, well-maintained paths, and plenty of room to rebuild a healthy routine — no gym membership required.

Lumpini Park — Pathumwan District

Lumphini Park, Bangkok.

Bangkok’s oldest and most iconic park remains a favorite for fitness lovers. Wide running loops, shaded walking paths, and a calm central lake make it ideal for jogging, brisk walks, or group workouts. Outdoor exercise equipment and open spaces support everything from stretching to aerobics, especially in the early morning and evening.

Opening Hours: Daily, 04:30 – 21:00.

Suan Luang Rama IX — Prawet District

Suan Luang Rama IX, Bangkok.

Spanning 500 rai, this is Bangkok’s largest park and one of its most peaceful. Designed as a botanical garden, it’s perfect for longer walks, relaxed cycling, or low-impact workouts. The spacious layout makes it easy to exercise without crowds, especially on weekdays.
