Bangkok is stepping onto a global stage as the official host of the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026. Set for November 14, the landmark event marks the first expansion of the iconic Eurovision Song Contest into Asia.
Organized by the European Broadcasting Union in partnership with Voxovation, S2O Productions, and Channel 3 Thailand, the new competition will showcase Asia’s diverse music scene on a major international platform.

A New Stage for Asian Music
The debut lineup includes 10 countries: South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan, with more expected to join. Rather than copying the European format, organizers say the show will reflect Asia’s unique cultural identity and creative energy.
Originally launched in 1956, Eurovision has grown into one of the world’s most-watched music events, attracting over 160 million viewers annually. Its expansion into Asia aims to build a similar cross-cultural experience — this time shaped by regional voices.
A More Interactive Experience
A key feature of Eurovision Asia will be enhanced audience participation. The new platform ZOOP will allow fans to engage with performances, artists, and each other in real time, creating a more interactive viewing experience beyond traditional broadcasts.

Why Bangkok?
Hosting the event reinforces Bangkok’s reputation as a major cultural and entertainment hub. With its ability to stage large-scale international productions and its blend of tradition and modern creativity, the city was a natural choice.
The event is also expected to boost tourism and support Thailand’s growing creative industries, bringing global attention to the country.
What to Expect
The Grand Final will take place in Bangkok on November 14, 2026, promising a mix of live performances, cultural exchange, and international competition on an unprecedented scale for the region.
