The Jim Thompson House Museum is the Bangkok home and Asian art collection of James H.W. Thompson, called the Thai Silk King. The address is 6 Soi Kasemsan 2, Rama 1 Road, Bangkok 10330, in the center of the city. Visitors come by car, taxi, tuk-tuk, or BTS National Stadium Station Exit 1. The museum pages do not name a district.

It is open every day from 10:00 to 17:00, with the last guided tour at 17:00. Visitors may not enter the main house without a guide. Guides are provided in Thai, English, French, Chinese, and Japanese. The visitor page says no reservation is required, while the homepage says online ticket sales were to open on 8 September 2026 and that walk-in tours remain available if online reservations are full.

Admission is 250 baht for adults, 150 baht for ages 10 to 21 with an ID or passport, and 150 baht for visitors with disabilities. Children aged 0 to 9, Thai Buddhist monks, press, tourist guides, and tour leaders with an identity card enter free. The homepage also says children under 10 enter free when accompanied by an adult.

Show the ticket at the house. Remove shoes before the main house, and leave bags over 20 cm in the lockers, which are monitored by CCTV. The house has several stairways and no elevator. Photography is allowed, but flash, selfies, individual posed photos, and video are not, and the museum is smoke-free.

The site warns that it has no connection with strangers who say the museum is closed for half a day on Buddhist or public holidays and offer to take visitors elsewhere. The telephone number is (66) 216-7368.
