Can i rent an apartment by the month in central Bangkok,or do they do only 6 month/year contracts?

Sure. If you're looking at short-term leases, there's places for daily and monthly stays as well as longer periods.

Yes, it is quite possible to rent for a month, a week, or even a day in Central Bangkok or other areas. But you must consider that the daily rent can be 3 to 4 times higher than the monthly rate. And of course, the biggest savings are with 6-month or one-year contracts.
