Kaia: A New Eco-Luxury Resort Brand to Launch on Ko Pha Ngan

A fresh name in sustainable hospitality is set to make its debut in Southeast Asia. Kaia, the result of a collaboration between Thai hospitality company Bound and Beyond and eco-development experts Cloud Collective, is preparing to unveil its first resort on Thailand’s idyllic Koh Pha Ngan in late 2025.
Kaia aims to redefine the luxury-resort experience, with an emphasis on environmental harmony and cultural integration. The brand will offer upscale outdoor retreats that are not only environmentally conscious but also designed to connect deeply with the surrounding community and landscape.
The flagship resort will be nestled within the natural beauty of a national park and accessible via a 30-minute speedboat trip from Koh Samui. The property will feature 31 spacious, ocean-facing tented suites (each approximately 77 square meters), complete with private outdoor decks, bathtubs, and pantries stocked with both local and resort-made goods. Additionally, four expansive two-bedroom villas—measuring 248 square meters each—will include private pools for added luxury.
Sustainability is a cornerstone of Kaia’s design philosophy. Structures will incorporate eco-friendly materials such as reclaimed teakwood and recycled plastic, while the resort will operate entirely without single-use plastics, opting instead for biodegradable alternatives. A strong emphasis is placed on passive cooling, natural ventilation, and minimal environmental disruption.
Guests will enjoy access to a central clubhouse that features an infinity pool, beachfront lounging areas, and multiple dining spaces. The resort’s offerings will include immersive activities like open-fire cooking, forest foraging, pottery classes, and squid-catching excursions, as well as wellness experiences such as yoga sessions, cold-water immersion, and guided nature walks.
Kaia’s mission is to foster a meaningful cultural exchange and social benefit. Inspired by the Thai concept of jao baan, which emphasizes local leadership and community care, the brand prioritizes employing local staff, sourcing ingredients from nearby farms, and supporting traditional skills and crafts.
Seasonal menus, created with a focus on locally grown and ethically sourced ingredients, will be a hallmark of the dining experience. The Koh Pha Ngan property will even maintain its own organic farm and collaborate closely with responsible local producers to uphold a closed-loop food system.
As it prepares for its Koh Pha Ngan launch, Kaia has its sights set on international expansion, with more resort locations to be announced in the near future.
