Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles
The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, พิพิธภัณฑ์ผ้า ในสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ, occupies the Ratsadakorn-bhibhathana Building inside the Grand Palace, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200. The building name is also spelled Ratsadakhorn-bhibhathana. King Bhumibol Adulyadej granted the then-vacant palace building for a museum meant to keep Thailand’s textile arts.
Galleries include a display on Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s work to preserve and promote Thai textiles, prepared around her 90th birthday on 12 August 2022. A further presentation shows SUPPORT textiles from regions and peoples across the country, both as finished cloth and with the tools used to make them.
A museum store near the coffee bar sells books, clothes, silk flowers, and Support Foundation goods.
The museum is open daily from 09:00 to 16:30, and the last admission is at 15:30. A Saturday closing time is written “Satureday closure: 04.30 PM,” spelling and all, and no different Saturday hours are stated.
Admission is included in a Grand Palace ticket. Palace visitors show that ticket at the museum desk.
Visitors who come only for the museum pay 150 baht for adults, 80 baht for seniors over 65, 50 baht for students with ID, 50 baht for youth aged 12 to 18, and nothing for children under 12. School and tour groups are asked to book ahead.
Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the museum. Food and drink are not allowed either, apart from the coffee bar.
Photography is not permitted in the galleries, and phones should be turned off before going in. Oversized strollers, backpacks, and umbrellas must be checked. Wheelchair users can ask at the information desk.
