Celebrate Japan’s Tanabata Festival at The Mall Lifestore

For the first time in Thailand, the colorful Tanabata Festival from Japan is being brought to life at The Mall Japan Discovery 2025. The event takes place at M Grand Hall, The Mall Lifestore Bangkapi on Lat Phrao Road and runs until Sunday.
The theme, “The Charm of Sendai’s Summer,” showcases a striking recreation of Sendai city adorned with traditional Tanabata streamers—bright strips of washi paper that symbolize wishes during the summer celebration.
Festival-goers can enjoy an immersive Japanese cultural experience, from dressing in yukata and riding a classic jinrikisha (rickshaw) to meeting Musubimaru, the charming rice-ball mascot of Sendai. Over 100 authentic summer dishes, directly imported from Japan, are also on offer. Food highlights include white peaches and premium-grade seedless Shine Muscat grapes originally from Okayama.
The festival will travel to The Mall Lifestore Ngamwongwan from Aug 14 to 20, The Mall Lifestore Bangkae from Sept 25 to Oct 1 and The Mall Korat from Oct 7 to 14.
