Starting mid-October, visitors to six of Thailand’s most popular marine national parks will be able to book entry online through a new e-ticketing system designed to improve convenience, manage crowds, and ensure more transparent revenue collection, the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) has announced.

According to DNP director-general Athapol Charoenshunsa, the digital ticketing service will first be rolled out at:
- Hat Noppharat Thara–Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park
- Mu Ko Phangnga National Park
- Mu Ko Similan National Park
- Than Bok Khorani National Park
- Mu Ko Surin National Park
- Ko Lanta National Park
Tickets can be purchased via the QueQ mobile application or directly through the DNP website. After completing payment, visitors will receive a QR code or verification code, which must be presented to officials upon arrival at the park.
Mr. Athapol explained that the new system will reduce wait times at entry points, streamline operations, and improve visitor flow. It also provides a clear record of transactions, ensuring better accountability.
Marine parks have been prioritized for the rollout since they have multiple access points, with all boats required to use designated piers equipped with DNP scanning systems. The department ultimately plans to expand e-ticketing to all 156 national parks across Thailand.
In addition to digital upgrades, the DNP is also strengthening safety measures. Forty new high-speed inflatable patrol boats have been purchased to support rangers in monitoring tourist activities and enforcing environmental regulations, including bans on wastewater discharge and littering in sensitive marine zones.
With these improvements, the DNP aims to enhance both the visitor experience and the protection of Thailand’s marine ecosystems, ensuring that the country’s natural treasures remain well preserved for generations to come.
