What qualifications do u need to teach English in Thailand?
You're talking min. bachelor's degree plus TEFL/TESOL (or teaching licence) if your degree isn't in education.
I would add that at least one year's experience of teaching is usually required too.
So is the degree thing a dealbreaker then? No way round that?
@darren Yes, I would say so if you're looking for a regular salaried teaching job in Thailand. Things were a bit more lax here 20 years ago, but the degree is a requirement for a work permit, and you can't legally work without a work permit. So it's a government rule rather than an employer one.
There's online teaching, of course, which has always been a bit of a grey area here as far as work permits go, so that might be a way round the degree thing, especially if you're freelancing.
