Thailand will celebrate the Thai New Year with two major events in Bangkok: the Maha Songkran World Water Festival (April 11–15 at Benchakitti Park) and the Saneh Art by Songkran Festival (April 11–30 at Lumphini Park). Organized by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), these events highlight Songkran’s status as a UNESCO-listed cultural heritage and aim to boost tourism revenue beyond THB 30 billion.
The Maha Songkran World Water Festival blends tradition with modern entertainment. Visitors can enjoy a grand parade, cultural performances, regional showcases, a drone light show, sand pagoda building, and Buddha bathing rituals, along with family-friendly and water play zones.

Meanwhile, the Saneh Art by Songkran Festival presents contemporary Thai creativity through large-scale art installations, workshops, markets, and cultural activities. A special Check-in Challenge will offer limited-edition prizes during the main Songkran period.
Beyond the capital, nationwide celebrations will take place across all regions — from Chiang Mai and Sukhothai in the north to Phuket and Ko Samui in the south — offering diverse local experiences rooted in Thai traditions.
TAT projects around THB 30.35 billion in tourism revenue during the period April 11–15, driven by approximately 500,000 international visitors and nearly 6 million domestic trips, reinforcing Songkran’s role as one of the world’s leading cultural festivals.
