Hong Kong has officially earned global bragging rights. At the World’s 50 Best Bars 2025 awards ceremony held in the city, Bar Leone claimed the coveted No. 1 spot, becoming the first-ever bar in Asia to take home the title of The World’s Best Bar. The venue also secured the title of Best Bar in Asia 2025.

Located in Hong Kong’s lively Central District, Bar Leone is the creation of Lorenzo Antinori, a celebrated bartender known for his work at some of the world’s most iconic hotel bars, including The Savoy’s American Bar in London and the now-closed Dandelyan.
Bar Leone’s concept centers around cocktail popolari — or “cocktails for the people.” Inspired by the neighborhood bars of Rome, it channels a nostalgic, laid-back atmosphere in which guests can enjoy coffee, aperitivi, and good conversation. Its warm interior design evokes the spirit of 1980s and 1990s Rome, reflecting Antinori’s vision of a bar that feels approachable, authentic, and unmistakably Italian.

This year’s list includes bars from 29 cities, with eight new entries debuting from Athens, Bratislava, Guangzhou, Lima, New York, Oslo, Tirana, and Tokyo. Thailand also made a strong showing — Bar Us in Bangkok climbed an impressive 26 places to No. 15, while BKK Social Club secured the No. 49 spot.
