The Chiang Mai Street Jazz Festival is back for its seventh year, bringing a full week of live performances under the theme “Chiang Mai Jazz City: Let the City Play Its Jazz.” From Dec 1 to 7, the city turns into an open-air stage, filling streets, cafés, and cultural spots with the sounds of jazz.
What started as a small gathering has grown into one of Northern Thailand’s most exciting cultural events. The festival blends international and Thai talent, welcoming longtime jazz lovers and first-time listeners alike.

Street Performances: Dec 1–4
The Old City becomes the heart of the festival during the first four days. Musicians perform along quiet lanes, in temple grounds, and at neighborhood cafés, turning everyday Chiang Mai life into a musical experience.
Jazz Club Sessions: Dec 5–6
From Dec 5 to 6, the action moves into Chiang Mai’s top jazz venues: Moment’s Notice Jazz Club, The Mellowship Jazz Club, Mahoree City of Music, Karma Community Space, and North Gate Jazz Co-op. These intimate mini-concerts showcase artists with fresh styles and creative interpretations.
Moment’s Notice will also host two free jazz masterclasses:
- Dec 5, 15:00: “Augmented Saxophone With Electronics” by saxophonist Charley Rose
- Dec 6, 16:00: “Music Philosophy & Approach” by renowned jazz musician Jorge Rossy
Both workshops are free, with a suggested THB 200 donation.

Grand Finale: Dec 7
The festival wraps up at the Chiang Mai Cultural Centre with a full evening on the Main Stage. Performances begin at 17:30 with the Chiang Mai Big Band, followed by the Rossy Rose Carniel Trio at 19:00. The Yoh Duck Quartet featuring Krit Buranavitayawut takes the stage at 20:20 and the Gen-Z Quartet at 21:40, while Groovy Doopy x Rachael closes the night at 23:00.
