Night time shrines during Chinese New Year

Anyone noticed these? People performing mini ceremonies on homemade shrines (table, candles, statue) outside their house late at night during Chinese New Year? I noticed them last year. What are they praying to?

Yes, I've seen these shrines. They're very beautiful. I don't know what is the meaning of them though.

It's for good luck and wealth. Not sure why but it's always gotta be after about 11 at night. This is the guy they're praying to here (God of Wealth): https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caishen.
